Description: This data package contains the CO2 response (ACi curves) gas exchange of sunlit canopy leaves of the species Guatteria dumetorum (GUATDU), Miconia borealis (MICOBO), Terminalia amazonia (TERMAM) and Vochysia ferruginea (VOCHFE) in February 2017. Sampled trees were located within the NGEE Tropics site at Bosque Protector San Lorenzo (PA-SLZ) in Panama. Carbon Dioxide (CO2) response measured on young, mature and old leaves collected before dawn on 3 days. Fitted Vc,max and Jmax photosynthetic parameters were derived from measured data. Within the attached zip file are three Excel files with metadata and a single data file "2017_SLZ_ACi_Vcmax," also in Excel format. A detailed description of data collection protocol is available in word document and PDF formats, and a visualization of the workflow is available as Powerpoint and PDF files. Microsoft Excel, Word, and Powerpoint software will be required. This data was collected as part of the 2017 Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) and Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute (STRI) leaf traits by age campaign. Additional datasets from this campaign include further sample details, leaf water potential, leaf spectra, diurnal gas exchange, sap flow, leaf mass area (LMA) and leaf chemistry data.

Methods Description: Detailed methods of data collection are available in the files "NGEE_Tropics_BNL_ACi_AQ_Protocol.docx" and "2017_SLZ_BNL_ACi_AQ_Workflow.pptx." Both files are also included in PDF format.
